Broward College Welcomes Appointees to its District Board of Trustees

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Feb. 3, 2020) – Broward College welcomes two members to the Colleges' Board of Trustees. The announcement made by Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday, January 31, includes a reappointment and a new trustee. Mr. Matthew Caldwell, chief executive officer of the Florida Panthers Hockey Club, has been reappointed for four years; and a new appointee, Mr. Zachariah "Reggie" P. Zachariah, Jr., a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig, will serve for the same period.

"Trustees Caldwell and Zachariah are well-known for their tremendous records of professional achievement and service to our community," said President Gregory Adam Haile. "Their appointment to the Board will benefit our students and contribute to the growth of our institution and the region."

"I look forward to serving with Mr. Caldwell and Mr. Zachariah as we continue to build on Broward College's 60-year legacy of transforming students' lives," said Gloria Fernandez, chair of the Broward College Board of Trustees. "Both are stellar professionals with expertise that will be invaluable to the College."

The appointments are subject to approval by the senate.
