Broward College Professor Selected to Present Innovative Dance Workshop at Harvard University

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (February 12, 2018) – Broward College is proud to announce that Daniela Wancier, M.F.A., C.L.M.A., M.P.A., Assistant Professor of Dance in the Visual and Performing Arts Department was selected to present her innovative dance program during Harvard University's School of Medicine's 2018 world conference on Movement and Cognition, held at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center July, 27-29, 2018.

Professor Wancier will present Posture-gesture mergers: Integrated body actions that reveal decision-making style during the workshop portion of the conference to an eminent group of international medical professionals interested in the nature of human movement and its relation to cognitive function.

"We are extremely proud that Professor Wancier has been chosen to represent Broward College and present her work before such a distinguished body which will include experts from the M.I.N.D. Institute at M.I.T., the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Haifa, and the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery and University of Medical Sciences in Havana," said Broward College President J. David Armstrong, Jr. "Her course in body movement is fascinating and this area of research may lead to many important real world applications."

The broad topic areas of the conference include rehabilitation, sports, human development, gerontology, genetics/genomics, technologies and measurement, science of aesthetics, behavioral and communication sciences, occupational and physiotherapy and biomedical engineering.
