Broward College and Magic Leap Partner to Impact Students and Faculty via the World of Spatial Computing

Students and faculty will have access to Magic Leap One, the world's leading spatial computing device

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (May 6, 2019) – Broward College is teaming up with Magic Leap, the leader in spatial computing technology, to launch one of the first spatial computing degree programs in the country. The College will launch courses in spatial computing technology during the 2019 – 2020 academic year.

Through the partnership, Broward College will have access to Magic Leap's spatial computing platform and support from its network of highly skilled professionals. Also, Broward College will establish a Spatial Computing Practice Lab on lab on the A. Hugh Adams Central campus in Davie that will be used by students, faculty, and researchers involved in the revolutionary program.

The partnership includes the opportunity to provide Broward College personnel with experience and industry up-skilling. Also, Broward College and the Magic Leap Education Team will engage Broward UP communities and local high schools throughout the year to provide Magic Leap demonstrations, support hackathons, and highlight Broward College as a key higher education partner offering its students cutting-edge educational opportunities.

Initial participating programs include Technician Training Disciplines (computer science, aviation maintenance, dental hygiene, and marine mechanics), as well as Workforce & Continuing Education, Supply Chain Management, and Nursing. The College will also develop spatial computing training for faculty and staff.
