Broward College Welcomes Akhil Agrawal to its District Board of Trustees

Agrawal brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (January 23, 2021) – Broward College is pleased to welcome Akhil Agrawal to its District Board of Trustees. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
“As an expert in finance, healthcare logistics, and strategic development, Trustee Agrawal is an excellent addition to our Board,” said President Gregory Adam Haile, J.D. “Even more, his passion for service and his enthusiasm for the provision of educational opportunity is reflective of our spirit. I look forward to his contributions to the Broward College community.
Agrawal serves as co-founder and managing partner of the early-stage venture capital and middle-market healthcare investment company AMD Equities. He has played a vital role in funding dozens of successful capital investment ventures over the past 20 years. In 1993, Agrawal co-founded the medical supplies distribution company American Medical Depot and led the company as president from 1993 through 2020. He earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Florida Atlanta University.
Trustee Agrawal will join current members of the Board, Gloria Fernandez (chair), Matthew Caldwell (vice chair), and Zachariah Zachariah.

Trustee Agrawal is expected to participate in the next Broward College District Board of Trustees meeting on February 9.
