Broward College North Campus to Host State Walk-Up COVID-19 Vaccination Site

State to Administer Vaccines beginning February 25

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (February 25, 2021) -- The Broward College North Campus in Coconut Creek will host one of the latest state-run COVID-19 vaccination sites. The location will accept walk-ups, as well as those who have been proactively scheduled for appointments. The site is intended to serve residents in communities who have faced challenges accessing other vaccination sites.

The site will be open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. starting Thursday, February 25. It will operate from the Omni Auditorium on North Campus, located at 1000 Coconut Creek Boulevard, in Coconut Creek. The site will be open for a minimum of two months, and 200 vaccines will be available each day on a first-come, first-served basis.

As per the current state guidelines, the vaccines will be offered to health care workers with direct patient contact and individuals 65 and older. If the vaccine eligibility guidelines change to include other individuals, the site will abide by those recommendations.

Broward College has been proud to provide equipment and more than 1,400 boxes of PPE to our hospital partners, educate our neighbors on how to protect themselves from the virus, offer an on-campus site for COVID-19 testing, and package food for those displaced by the pandemic.

“After having the privilege of supporting our partners and residents in a number of ways throughout this pandemic, it is now our privilege to provide a site for COVID-19 vaccinations,” said President Gregory Adam Haile, J.D. “We have been gifted with the capacity to serve, and we are intent on optimizing our service to our community.”
