The Music, Film, Literature, and Art Festival (MFLA) at Broward College has grown exponentially in just seven years. When it started in 2015, the MFLA was just a two-day event created to celebrate the arts and letters at the Judson A. Samuels South Campus. MFLA is now a two-week conference that includes faculty and staff from across all eight pathways.
The festival takes place every year during March, and this year, it will run from March 8 to 18 in a virtual setting. This year's theme, A Changing World: Envisioning What's Next, is the perfect reflection of the ongoing changes to our day-to-day lives through the arts. The festival will feature panels, readings, exhibits, and performances that encourage participants to think and explore how the world and our lives have changed and what future possibilities mean to all of us.
Although this is not the first time it will be held virtually, the previous year showed how much potential this setting offers, allowing a significant increase in engagement and participation, with an expected participant count of over 1,300 people.
What to Expect
During the two-week festival, there are 16 events scheduled. Among the most anticipated are:
Zoom registration is required for all events throughout the festival. You can find the links to register for each event here.
