FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla - In March, a group of Broward College students demonstrated outstanding performance at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate Florida State Leadership Conference in Orlando, securing 34 individual and team awards related to accounting, economics, hospitality, entrepreneurship and other business related topics and earning a remarkable $1,900 in prize money.

Their efforts have qualified them to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX, in May. Students also participated in exclusive business tours at the Hilton Orlando, SeaWorld, Visit Orlando and Withum Accounting, where they engaged with executives and explored organizational operations firsthand.

These achievements reflect the commitment and excellence of Broward College's future business leaders. The College celebrates the success of these students and their contributions to its legacy of excellence. The Broward College FBLA Chapter received the Pansy B. Read Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit, which honors exceptional Florida chapters that have actively engaged in projects and programs aligned with FBLA's goals.

The Broward College FBLA chapter was also recognized for its exceptional community service project in collaboration with the Capital One Bank team, which delivered the "Money Smarts, Bright Futures" workshop. Additionally, Dr. Cathileen Montesarchio, the Broward College FBLA adviser, was honored as an Honorary Life Member in the Florida FBLA. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing business education and provided exceptional service to the FBLA.
