IPS graduating classDAVIE, Fla. - Broward College's Institute for Public Safety (IPS) recently hosted its 363rd graduation ceremony, with the graduating class of 35 cadets joining various South Florida law enforcement agencies.

The ceremony took place March 26 in College's Bailey Hall on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus in Davie. An honor guard opened the ceremony with the presentation of colors. Chief Gary Blocker of the Wilton Manors Police Department delivered the principal address, followed by a response from Daniel Posadas, the class president. This was also the first IPS graduation ceremony to be attended by Mr. Torey Alston, the College's new President and CEO.

Several class awards were also presented by class supervisor Remy Rodriguez, a detective at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

The graduating cadets will be serving the public in the following agencies:

  • Coral Springs Police Department
  • Davie Police Department
  • Fort Lauderdale Police Department
  • Hollywood Police Department
  • Margate Police Department
  • Miami Gardens Police Department

  • Seminole Police Department
  • Sunrise Police Department
