FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A Broward College staff member has been named a 2025 40 Under 40 honoree by the South Florida Business Journal.

Ana Ovalles is an Associate Vice President for Facilities Planning and Capital Budgets who has been with the College since 2013. The Journal’s program honors 40 of the best and brightest young professionals in South Florida who have excelled both in the business world while also giving back to the local community.

“It’s an incredible honor and a meaningful milestone in my 12-year journey with Broward College,” Ovalles said. "I find purpose every day in creating spaces that positively impact our students, faculty and staff. This recognition reflects not only my dedication and hard work but also the unwavering support of my family, friends and the outstanding Facilities Management team.”

Ovalles, who also has a background in interior design, focuses on areas such as optimizing space utilization, capital budget management, enhancing operational processes and aligning facilities with the College's long-term strategic goals.

“We’re proud of Ana and all that she has accomplished,” said Torey Alston, President and CEO of Broward College. “This is a great honor, and it demonstrates how everyone at Broward College, in every department, is working to make us the number one destination for academic excellence.”

Outside of the College, Ovalles has also participated in the Florida Educational Facilities Planners Association, sharing expertise as a panelist in multiple workshops. She also contributed to statewide initiatives as a trainer for the College Educational Plant Survey 101 under the Florida Department of Education’s Office of Educational Facilities.

In 2024, Ovalles completed an MBA with a concentration in operations management from Florida Atlantic University. She also holds a BFA in interior design from Miami International University of Art & Design.

The 2025 40 Under 40 honorees will be recognized at an awards luncheon hosted by the Journal this July in Miami.
