FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Broward College’s Respiratory Care Program has received the Presidential Award for Excellence from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

CoARC awarded this prestigious recognition to only 14 programs across the country—and Broward College is the only institution in Florida to earn this distinction.

The award honors programs with a 100% success rate in graduates achieving the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential, reflecting the exceptional quality of our students, faculty and curriculum. In addition to the 100% RRT credential success rate, an institution must also have three or more years of outcome data, hold accreditation without a progress report and meet or exceed CoARC’s thresholds for Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) high cut score and retention.

“Broward College recognizes the importance of training the next generation of health care professionals,” said Torey Alston, President and CEO. “As the only institution in Florida to receive this award, I’m proud of the dedication of our faculty and staff who are working toward our vision of being the number one destination for academic excellence.”

Broward College previously received the CoARC Presidential Award for Excellence in 2021.
