FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Broward College has named Terry Mularkey, M.A.S., CFRE, as its new Vice President of Advancement and CEO of the Broward College Foundation.

Mularkey joins the College after 11 years at Nova Southeastern University, where he served in various positions, including most recently as Vice President for University Advancement and Chief of Staff. At NSU, he led the Realizing Potential campaign, which successfully raised $10 million above its $250 million goal—and completed three years early.

“Terry Mularkey brings a wealth of experience to this role, and under the guidance of our District Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Directors, we will work together on our shared vision of making Broward College the #1 destination for academic excellence,” said Broward College President and CEO Torey Alston.

While at NSU, Mularkey was also the lead gift officer for the largest gift in the university’s history.

“Terry will help raise the profile of Broward College’s fundraising efforts and tell everyone the story we already know —that this College is a great investment because it helps so many students turn their dreams into successful careers,” said Alex Fernandez, Chair of the Broward College Foundation Board of Directors.

Prior to working in higher education, Mularkey served for 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring with a rank of lieutenant colonel and numerous awards and recognitions. In the military, he served in leadership positions in deployments to Iraq, Türkiye, Germany, Panama, and Italy. Mularkey is a graduate of Mercer University, The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, as well as The Armed Forces Staff College. He also earned a Masters of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
