COCONUT CREEK, Fla. - BC Cares commemorated the 2026 MLK Day of Service with a beautification project at North Campus in Coconut Creek.

More than 75 volunteers participated in the effort. Projects included the refreshing of gardens with new mulch, flowers and rock landscaping to create a more appealing and welcoming space. Children worked on their own projects, including painting birdhouses and decorative rocks.

“To all that participated—thank you for leading with service, heart, and community,” said Elaina Moran, director of institutional events.

BC Cares provides volunteer opportunities that make it easy for employees and their families to give back. While its primary mission is to foster a culture of service and community engagement among Broward College faculty, staff and their families, select events also welcome students, alumni and friends of the College. These partnerships strengthen our sense of purpose and connection throughout the Broward College community.

Past BC Cares projects have included beach cleanups, Habitat for Humanity builds, and a similar beautification effort at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus in Davie.
