FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Governor Ron DeSantis has reappointed Alexis Yarbrough and Mario Zanotti-Cavazzoni to Broward College’s District Board of Trustees.

Yarbrough and Zanotti-Cavazzoni were first appointed to the board in 2023 by DeSantis.

“The District Board of Trustees is an integral part of Broward College,” said President and CEO Torey Alston. “I applaud Governor DeSantis for reappointing Chair Yarbrough and Trustee Zanotti, which ensures that we have the most effective team in place to guide the College to continued success.”

Yarbrough, the board’s current Chair, also leads the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Previously, she served as Chair and Commissioner on the Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission. Yarbrough earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University.

Zanotti-Cavazzoni is the Senior Advisor of Organizational Transformation for CONMEBOL, the confederation governing professional soccer in South America. He is the former Senior Vice President of Latin America for Millicom International. Zanotti-Cavazzoni earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and a master’s degree in business administration from Universidad Católica de Asunción in Paraguay.
