COCONUT CREEK, Fla. - Fairy tales and scientific discovery will join together at an upcoming Broward College community event.

“Wonderland's Enchanted Hive - A STEMBeez Adventure” will run from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, April 4 at Building 46 on North Campus, located at 1000 Coconut Creek Blvd., in Coconut Creek. The free event is a partnership between the College’s Science and Wellness Department and the STEMBeez nonprofit organization.

The Easter-themed event will allow middle school attendees and their parents to visit different science-themed stations to try hands-on experiments. They will collect clues in a lab passbook to help discover a new species. Attendees will receive candy bags and be entered into raffles, with the opportunity to win prizes.

Multiple College departments will also participate in the event by providing information about their programs.

“We hope to increase the students' curiosity in the sciences by exposing them to the fun side of the discipline,” said Jonelle Orridge, Ph.D., Associate Dean, North Campus. “We also hope that their parents may be inspired to sign up for courses at Broward College after visiting the information tables.”

Although the event is free, advance registration is required on Eventbrite.
