FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Julie Price, president and CEO of the nonprofit organization Arc Broward and a Broward College alum, Class of 1987, will deliver the keynote speech at Broward College’s spring 2026 commencement.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at the Amerant Bank Arena, 1 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise.

Price’s Broward roots and connections to the College are multigenerational—not only did she attend then-Broward Community College, but her parents met as students when it was previously known as the Junior College of Broward County.

"It is always exciting when we can welcome back one of our graduates to share their successes with a new generation of Seahawks,” said Broward College President and CEO Torey Alston. “Julie’s dedication to serving the community she grew up in demonstrates the impacts that our alumni can have.”

Founded in 1956, Arc Broward provides resources and programs that help people with developmental disabilities to thrive. While still attending Broward College’s Honors Institute, Price began working at Arc Broward in a direct support role, providing hands-on services to people with disabilities. Across the next four decades, Price built a career at Arc Broward and moved up through the organization’s leadership ranks, serving as COO and later president and CEO.

“Broward College gave me more than an education -- it gave me access, opportunity, and the confidence to take my first steps forward,” Price said. “Starting my career while I was a student here shaped the path that followed, and it’s incredibly meaningful to return and speak to graduates who are beginning their own journeys.”

Price is also actively engaged in numerous local and statewide organizations, including Leadership Florida, Leadership Broward, and several statewide advocacy organizations advancing services and policy for individuals with disabilities. She also advocates in Tallahassee to expand resources and support for vulnerable populations.

“This is a full-circle moment, and a powerful reminder of how this institution transforms lives and strengthens our community,” Price said.
