FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Broward College has made three new hires for its senior management team: Jon Miller for Vice President of Government and Community Affairs; Ben Rosenberg for General Counsel; and Sara Shayanian for Associate General Counsel.

“These new executives bring years of expertise in their respective fields to Broward College, and they will support our shared vision of becoming the #1 destination for academic excellence,” said President and CEO Torey Alston.

Miller has 25 years of experience in advocacy and public affairs, including lobbying at the state and federal levels. He previously served as President and CEO of Victory Marketing & Communications while also acting as the Managing Director of Advocacy for Majority Strategies. Miller developed campaigns for national and state level clients in a variety of fields, including higher education, energy, transportation, and social welfare. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies/Pre-Law from Georgia Southern University.

Rosenberg joins Broward College from the University of Miami, where he led the drafting and negotiation of high-impact agreements spanning technology and data use, sponsored research, and institutional operations. He was a key advisor to academic and administrative leaders, translating legal risk into practical, business-oriented guidance and supporting strategic initiatives across the enterprise. He previously practiced law at an international law firm and as a network attorney. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University (FIU) and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and International Business from FIU.

Shayanian has experience in corporate law and transactional matters, including private equity, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. She previously served as an Associate Attorney at both Winston & Strawn LLP and Greenberg Traurig LLP. In these roles, she advised corporate clients on formation and governance, corporate restructurings, and a wide range of financial and transactional matters. Shayanian earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Political Science degree from the University of Florida.
