Broward College Experts Available as Part of National Safe at Home Week

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (August 19, 2013) – As National Safe at Home Week approaches, Broward College is making the following experts available to comment on home safety issues.

Debra Hauss is an expert in emergency management and has more than 17 years of experience working with the South Florida Regional Disaster Medical Assistance Team. Hauss is available to discuss ways to prevent injuries at home and emergency preparedness. She can be reached at 954-201-4855 or dhauss@broward.edu.

Marcus Robinson is an expert on fire safety. He can discuss the importance of residential smoke detectors, fire extinguisher usage and family escape plans. Robinson can be reached at 954-201-5323 or mrobins@broward.edu.

Kathy King is a Registered Nurse and the director of nurse specialty training programs at Broward College. She is available to discuss choking hazards, poisoning hazards and the proper way to treat burns. King can be reached at  kking1@broward.edu.
