Broward College and GM Partner to Train Highly Skilled Automotive Technicians

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (August 28, 2013) – As the fall semester begins, Broward College’s AutoNation Center for Excellence in Automotive Science and Technology received four new vehicles to its training facility from General Motors, a 2013 Cadillac CTS, 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, 2012 GMC Arcadia Denali and 2013 60th anniversary Chevrolet Corvette to help train skilled technicians, which is critical for the automotive industry. 

“We are proud to support training programs that prepare the next generation of automotive technicians,” said Todd Dawn, GM ASEP and AYES program manager. “Our commitment to our customers goes well beyond building a quality product. Our dedication to excellence starts at the training level by partnering with schools in communities around the globe to share our collective passion for the automotive industry, and educate, inspire and motivate the technicians of tomorrow.”

Broward College’s AutoNation Center for Excellence in Automotive Science and Technology plays an important role in helping the auto industry develop and retain highly skilled automotive technicians. “GM not only supports us with late model vehicles for students to learn on, they also have infused our NATEF approved curriculum with GM training modules and access to the GM Service Technical College material,” said Anthony T. Petriello, associate dean for Automotive & Marine Technology.
