Broward College Named Military Friendly School for 2014

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (September 20, 2013) – For the fifth consecutive year Broward College has been included in the Military Friendly Schools List. The list, presented by Victory Media, recognizes the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country doing the most to recruit and retrain military service members, veterans and their spouses as students, and ensure their success on campus

In addition, Broward College provides veterans affairs coordinators at each campus, career counseling and advisin

“Broward College is honored to be recognized for embracing America’s service members, veterans and their families by providing a supportive educational environment for academic and career success,” said Broward College President J. David Armstrong, Jr. “We will continue to offer innovative and accessible ways to provide support and higher education opportunities for those who serve and protect our country.

The Military Friendly Schools list was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for Veterans Administration tuition funding. The survey results that comprise the 2014 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP, based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.

This year’s Military Friendly Schools list criteria also incorporated a survey of more than 4,000 student veterans. This feedback provides prospective military students with insight into the student veteran experience at particular institutions based on reviews from current students.
