Broward College to Observe Veterans Day with Events

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (October 24​, 2013) – Broward College will host a series of events to commemorate Veterans Day, honoring members of the College and South Florida community who have served in the U.S. Military. The events are free and open to the public.

Events taking place at Broward College include:

Broward College’s North Campus

Tuesday, November 5, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Veteran’s Fair and Keynote Speaker
Building 46, Room 152

Broward College’s North Campus will host a veterans fair highlighting services and resources available to veterans at the College and in the community. Guest speaker, Brian Fleming, a combat-wounded military veteran and resiliency coach for the U.S. military, will deliver a keynote speech at 1:30 p.m., to discuss issues facing veterans today. Fleming is considered a leading authority on effectively battling post-traumatic stress, overcoming stress and veteran entrepreneurship. Veteran's Appreciation Day

Broward College’s Central Campus will pay tribute to veterans during a Veteran’s Appreciation Day event. The informative event will also offer up information about various branches of the military, veteran’s benefits, and available services offered at the College and in the community.
