Broward College to Host Events to Commemorate Black History Month

Broward College will celebrate Black History Month with a series of events throughout the month of February at its Central, North and South campuses. The events are free and open to the public. Events taking place at Broward College include:

Spoken Word with Jon Goode

Black is Beautiful with Stan Pearson

Motivational speaker Stan Pearson will host an inspirational, informative and entertaining keynote lecture for students, staff and community members. Nelson Mandela Tribute Festival

House of Slaves and Door of No Return: Photographic Exhibit by Edmund Abaka

Author Talk and Book Signing with Edmund Abaka

Artist and historian Edmund Abaka will discuss his book “House of Slaves and Door of No Return: Gold Coast/Ghana Slave Forts, Castles and Dungeons and the Atlantic Slave Trade,” at the North Regional/Broward College Library.
