U.S. Army Major General Rick L. Waddell to Speak at Broward College on the Russian Activities in the Ukraine

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (March 19, 2014) – U.S. Army Major General Rick L. Waddell, deputy commander for mobilization and reserve affairs, will hold a special talk on U.S. military implications of the Russian activities in the Ukraine and its increasing polarization with the European borderlands on Monday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Broward College’s A. Hugh Adams Central Campus, 3501 S.W. Davie Road, Davie, Building 17, Room 425. The event is free and open to the public.

Waddell serves as principal advisor to the combatant commander on issues that maximize the effectiveness of Reserve Components integration into the Theater Campaign Plan. Throughout his Army Reserve career, he has served in key staff positions in the United States, U.S. Central Command and U.S. Force-Korea.  Waddell’s assignments include special assistant at the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army; energy sector strategic analyst at United States Central Command; special advisor to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Tikrit, Iraq; joint strategic planner for Headquarters Multinational Force-Iraq; director of oil, J9, United States Forces-Iraq; and J4 (wartime), U.S. Force-Korea.
