Broward College and the Florida Humane Society Partner to Host Second Annual ‘Pet De-Stress’

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 22, 2015) – Finals week is a stressful time for many college students. To provide a much-needed break between studying and exams, Broward College and the Florida Humane Society are once again teaming up to host “Pet De-stress.” The event allows students to spend time socializing with adoptable dogs and puppies, while also learning about important issues related to pet adoption, and spaying and neutering in order to save the lives of unwanted pets. This event will be held on Monday, April 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus, 3501 S.W. Davie Road, Davie, Building 17, Lawn Area. Working media are invited to attend. 

 “We are honored to welcome the Florida Humane Society to Broward College,” said Daniela Circonciso, assistant director of digital marketing and social media, and organizer of the event. “This is a hugely beneficial experience not only for our stressed-out students, but these dogs, who unfortunately do not have a home, but still crave a little of someone’s time, kindness and attention.”

The Florida Humane Society is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill organization, which is not affiliated with any other humane organization. They receive no funding from any local, state or federal agencies, and are dependent entirely upon donations and the goodwill of the community. They utilize various programs to enhance animals' lives, including community education, spay/neuter programs and a disaster preparedness team.
