Wildlife Expert Ron Magill to Speak at Broward College Earth Day Event on April 16

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 2, 2015) – Ron Magill, American wildlife expert, photographer, goodwill ambassador and communications director of the Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, will speak at Broward College on “The World of the Harpy Eagle: A Role Model for Tropical Forest Conservation.” The event will take place on Thursday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus, 3501 Davie Road, Davie, Building 3, Room 100. This event is free and open to the public. 

Magill will discuss the Harpy Eagle, a rare apex predator found in tropical forests of Central and South America, and one of the largest and most powerful birds of prey in the world. The eagle plays a vital role in the overall health of tropical forests since their protection leads to the safety of countless other lesser known species in one of the most bio diverse ecosystems on Earth.

For more than 30 years, Magill has had the privilege of hands-on work experience with a variety of animals, ranging from crocodiles and eagles to cheetahs. He is also an internationally recognized zoological authority who has appeared on a wide variety of local, national and international television programs.
