Broward College Announces New Accelerated Weekend Supply Chain Management Express Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (May 27, 2015) – As a part of the new Supply Chain Management Express degree program, Broward College is offering flexible and accelerated weekend options at its Miramar West Center. Designed for busy working adults interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management degree, this program will allow students to complete their degree in just over two years. Applications are currently being accepted.

“We are very excited to announce this new option, especially since South Florida has a major geographic advantage for the global trade and logistics industry,” said Russell McCaffery, Broward College dean of transportation programs. “With job growth expected in this sector, we look forward to providing the necessary skills training to our students to meet the demands of the local workforce.”

The program is primarily designed for students with little or no previous college experience. Classes are scheduled year-round during the fall, spring and summer semesters — on Friday nights, as well as Saturday mornings and afternoons. Students will first graduate with an Associate of Science in Supply Chain Management Operations in December 2016 and then with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supply Chain Management in December 2017.

Students will also be eligible for a special program that caps tuition and fees at $10,000 for students who maintain a 3.0 GPA and meet other eligibility criteria, a possible savings of more than $4,000.

The Bachelor of Applied Science program in Supply Chain Management provides higher levels of training and preparation for success in the competitive global marketplace, and specific program learning outcomes in logistics and supply chain management. Students, who successfully complete the Supply Chain Management degree program, will gain technical hands-on skills through case studies and an internship, which will include analysis and problem solving through simulations and other similar activities. This program also prepares students for industry certifications offered by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
