FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (August 17, 2015) – For the first time, Broward College is hosting a series of “Campus Safety Days” throughout September in recognition of National Campus Safety Awareness Month. To promote safety across the College’s multiple campuses and throughout the local community, Broward College’s Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Department will be working in conjunction with student life to host several events featuring local law enforcement and fire rescue, special weapons and tactics (SWAT) trucks, interactive displays and demonstrations, giveaways, as well as a variety of health and safety organizations, such as Women in Distress and the Broward County Emergency Management Division. These events are free and open to the public.
“Promoting a safe and secure environment is our main priority, so we thought National Campus Safety Awareness Month was a wonderful opportunity to bring together a variety of organizations and resources,” said Broward College Associate Vice President for Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness, Peter Agnesi. “We look forward to sharing this important information with everyone who visits our campuses, including students, faculty, staff and the general public.”
