Three-Year Business Express Program to Start August 2016 at Broward College

Weekend schedule tailored to working adults will grant Bachelor of Applied Science degree in supervision and management

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Tuesday, April 6, 2016) – Broward College has announced that beginning August 2016, it will offer the Business Express program at its Central Campus in Davie, FL. Business Express will make it possible for students looking to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in supervision and management to accomplish their goal during weekend sessions and in three years.

With one class on Friday night and two classes on Saturday, this accelerated, year-round program is in response to student requests to have weekend courses that are compatible with a full-time, professional schedule. The goal of the programs is to offer working adults the opportunity to advance in the workplace by earning three technical certificates, their associate degree and their bachelor's degree through one, comprehensive program.

The program offers courses such as accounting, marketing, human resources and operations management, Business Express will offer the curriculum found in a traditional management program in addition to general education classes such as economics, English, and math. Created with motivated, goal-oriented students in mind, the program will function in small cohorts which will allow students to study with the same group for the duration of the degree program. This model allows for collaboration and the creation of a support network.

"Today's job market is competitive, and students need more options for obtaining a bachelor's degree to advance in their careers," said John Cejka, Associate Dean of Business and Management programs at Broward College. "Business Express will make it possible for them to maintain their current work schedules, and simultaneously earn a four-year degree in only three years."

Admissions criteria to enroll in Business Express are the same as registering for any Broward College program, and can be found by visiting www.broward.edu/admissions. Admission to Business Express is on a rolling basis; however, those planning to enroll in the inaugural class should do so at least one week prior to the start of the fall 2016 term which begins in August.
