Broward College Enters into Agreement with Dominican Republic Ministry of Youth to Provide Career Training

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 23, 2017) – Broward College has entered into a partnership with the Dominican Republic Ministry of Youth to offer a comprehensive career training program for Dominican youth in the United States. Dominican Republic Youth Minister Robiamny Balcácer and Broward College Continuing Education Director Diane Peart formally signed the agreement during a ceremony at Broward College on January 9, 2017.

“It is an honor for us to partner with the Ministry of Youth in an effort to extend access to higher education in the Dominican Republic,” said Peart. “We are confident that the skills and knowledge the students will learn at Broward College will prepare them for successful careers.”

Students from the Dominican Republic can now receive workforce skills through a wide range of Broward College on-campus and online workforce programs. The agreement will expand career training opportunities with a focus on business, leadership, and industry needs in the Dominican Republic. The program is currently scheduled to launch in March 2017 at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus located in Davie, FL. Approximately 20 students will participate in the first cohort.
