March of the Penguins Live at Bailey Hall

“March of the Penguins - Live!” at Bailey Hall Presents the Oscar-Winning Film with The Broward Symphony Led by the Conductor of the Original Movie Soundtrack, Jeffrey Schindler

Davie, FL (February 10, 2017) – In partnership with Warner Bros., the “Bailey Hall Presents” series offers one of its season’s highlights with March of the Penguins – Live! on Saturday, February 25th at 7:30 p.m.

As the movie screens, the Broward Symphony orchestra will perform Alex Wurman’s evocative score under the baton of Jeffrey Schindler, conductor of the original movie soundtrack and one of the most prolific music directors in Hollywood.

Narrated by Morgan Freeman, the Oscar-winning documentary explores the vast landscape and soundscapes of Antarctica through the extraordinary lives of its penguins. Director Luc Jacquet brilliantly captures the penguins as they embark on a journey that will take them hundreds of miles across the icy Antarctic in harsh conditions in the quest to find the perfect mate and start a family.

With more than 60 volunteer musicians, the Broward Symphony Orchestra has brought classical music to the community for over 50 years and is based at Bailey Hall.

“The impactful score and captivating visuals makes this a must-see for music and film fans,” said Dr. Dan Barnard, associate dean of cultural affairs and director of Bailey Hall.

Tickets are available for $12-24 and can be purchased by visiting www.baileyhall.org or contacting the Bailey Hall box office at (954) 201-6884. The box office and phone lines are open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and one hour prior to an event.
