"My Country" is an original play by Mariah Reed in which various scenes, monologues and songs explore what it means to be a citizen of the United States of America. The Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and other foundational tenets are examined to stimulate dialogue about what exactly our founding fathers intended when creating this great nation of ours. “Lawrence and Helen Tegeler Together” Opening Reception

This two-person exhibition features the work of Lawrence Tobe and Helen Tegeler, artists who abstract the natural world around them with a vivid color palette. Tobe’s large oil paintings bring environment and anthropology to life with invigorating patterns. Tegeler’s glass and fabric sculptures remind us of the transformations inherent in plant forms, and how the seed’s journey relates to our own lives. President J. David Armstrong, Jr. surprised seven faculty members with the news they were chosen for the 2017 Broward College Foundation Endowed Teaching Chair Awards. This year’s honorees include Jan Johnson, Sheldon J. Schlesinger Endowed Teaching Chair; Dr. George Peter, Bank of America II Endowed Teaching Chair; Dr. Kevin Walsh, Otto Burkhardt Endowed Teaching Chair; Jody Harris, Causeway Lumber Company Endowed Teaching Chair; Shireen Puig, Blockbuster Entertainment Endowed Teaching Chair; Dina Durand, George and Wilma Elmore Endowed Teaching Chair; Dr. Russell Betts, AT&T Endowed Teaching Chair.
