The Potters’ Guild Invitational is an accumulation of ceramic works by one of the most excellent groups of clay artists in South Florida. The artists of the Broward College Potters’ Guild share a studio space, as well as creative ideas and techniques, and this relationship results in fantastic clay works, both functional and sculptural. This year’s show is juried by Chad Steve, resident artist at the Armory Art Center. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, is on display through August 9. The League of American Pen Women Fort Lauderdale chapter presents “A Mother’s Love.” Works on display include photography, watercolor, acrylics, oils mixed media and sculpture. Bartosz Beda, Faraz Falahi, and Serena Stevens come from disparate backgrounds, but their work shares a unique view of the world. The images on display as part of “Beneath the Surface” capture glimpses of figures in their environments through loose and textured painted surfaces. The Ballet Etudes presents a performance of “Come Dance with Me!” at Bailey Hall on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus in Davie, Fla. Ballet Etudes has been one of the premier dance schools in the Southeast for more than 40 years. Broward College Recognized with National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) Accreditation

The Broward College art and design programs have received accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The institution is the only one within the Florida College System (FCS) to earn this designation.

The accreditation is the culmination of a five-year comprehensive process which included conducting a self-study, on-site visit, and responding to follow-up questions. To maintain the accreditation, the College will be reassessed every five years with ongoing, regularized self-evaluations and peer reviews. For more information, click   here.
