Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Visits Broward College’s Aviation Institute Following $3,187,500 Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 16, 2018) – Broward College, Urban League of Broward, CareerSource Broward and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance recently hosted Cissy Proctor, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, at the Broward College Aviation Institute.
Ms. Proctor toured the aviation facility, spoke with staff and learned how the $3,187,500 Florida Job Growth Grant for Workforce Training, which aims to train 1,500 and create 1,275 local jobs, will be implemented. A priority of the grant is to create and fill local jobs in the aviation, advanced manufacturing and information technology industries through engagement with the South Florida business community.
