On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Broward College conferred nearly 6,000 degrees and certificates at its 88th commencement ceremony at the BB&T Center. During the ceremony, President J. David Armstrong, Jr. conferred 210 bachelor's degrees, 2,914 associate degrees, and 2,350 technical certificates to students who represent almost 100 countries.
COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER
The keynote address was delivered by Mike Jackson, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer an President, AutoNation, Inc. He is recognized as one of the most influential and effective leaders in the automotive industry. He is credited with modernizing the automotive retail business, introducing contemporary operational practices and delivering an unprecedented degree of customer service. Through his vision, AutoNation secured its position as America's largest automotive retailer, is the only one in history to have sold more than 11 million vehicles and the company has distinguished itself as the industry's standard bearer for customer focus, transparency, and corporate success.
