Dr. Richard Pulido is a full-time Assistant Professor of Education at Broward College and the current President of the Faculty Senate. He has dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to education. He is a published research author and describes himself as a lifetime learner.
Dr. Pulido was born and raised in New York City. He attended High School in the Bronx and John Jay College of Criminal Justice – City University of New York (CUNY). He relocated to South Florida in the early 1990’s to complete his Bachelor of Arts in History/Education at St. Thomas University, Florida. He later earned his Master of Science in Education/Social Sciences and his Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University, Florida.
Over the past three decades, Dr. Pulido has enjoyed a rewarding and diverse career. He has held positions as a high school social studies teacher, head basketball coach, both secondary and higher education administrator, successful businessman, and elected in his home town as Vice Mayor. He has worked for various nonprofits in the field of community engagement and philanthropy in areas serving youth education, foster children, and homeless populations.
Dr. Pulido has been appointed to serve on several private, government and nonprofit committees and boards. His vast professional experience has provided him the opportunity to serve as a community engagement and public affairs consultant and presenter at numerous conferences. Dr. Pulido’s greatest passion is helping individuals achieve their education potentials. He recognizes education has been the single most significant part of his life journey.
