Victoria Brower
Associate Professor: Political Science/International Relations/U.S. Constitution | Social Behavioral Sciences and Human Services
Victoria Brower is the daughter of Colombian immigrants but was raised in South Florida. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Social Behavioral Science and Human Services Department Central Campus, at Broward College, where she has taught since 2007. Prior to her teaching at BC, she taught at Queens University and Central Piedmont College in Charlotte, North Carolina; Campbell University and Fayetteville Technical College in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and for the ISD of San Antonio Texas teaching ESL. She teaches International Relations; National Government; State and Local Government and the U.S. Constitution. Victoria earned her doctorate in Education Leadership Ed.D., her Education Specialist, Ed.S., her master's from Boston University in International Relations M.A., her bachelor's from Florida International University in Political Science B.A., and her Associates of Arts from Broward College.
Professor Brower worked for the Florida Department of Education, where she was involved in many educational legislative initiatives, as well as working across 67 counties to forge business education partnerships. She has represented the college on several media outlets; on channel 2, NBC local affiliates and on the Spanish program- Univision: Crisis of Isis. Victoria's innovative teaching styles make her a favorite among students and her engagement techniques bring all things political and governmental alive in her classes. She is the advisor of the Political Science Group that has brought many events to the campus. She was selected as “Professor of the Year for Central Campus 2022”and the “Pillar of the Community” award. She is fluent in Spanish and her international experience studying at the University of Strasbourg French courses and her work with the Florida Department of Education, bringing a diverse perspective to the student body.
