Forbes Lists Broward College as One of the Best Employers in the State

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA – October, 12 2021 – Broward College is ranked among the best employers in Florida, according to the third annual "America's Best Employers by State" list published by Forbes.

Partnering with market-research company Statista, Forbes surveyed 80,000 Americans who work for businesses with at least 500 employees. The final ranking rated 1,328 of the highest recommended employers by state. Forbes listed only six higher education institutions within the top 100 employers for the state of Florida, and Broward College made the list, being ranked at number 63.

"This recognition as a top employer is a validation of the work we do to ensure that we provide an outstanding environment where employees are supported, valued and rewarded," said Gregory Adam Haile, J.D., president of Broward College. "At Broward College, our culture is built on the ideals of empathy and care for each other because we know that our faculty and staff are our greatest assets. After facing the challenges of the ongoing pandemic, recognition on this list feels more important than ever."

The researchers used a comprehensive criteria methodology that asked employees to rate their employers in areas such as opportunities for advancement, openness to telecommuting and competitiveness of compensation.

Broward College has more than 4,300 part-time and full-time employees who work in various capacities to support the institution's mission of "transforming students' lives and enriching our diverse community through academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful career opportunities."

This recognition comes on the heels of Broward College receiving the Cigna Outstanding Well-Being Award for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and well-being of its employees through a comprehensive and engaging workplace wellness program as well as the 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, for outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
